Decorating & Interior Repairs
It isn’t always just a matter of painting the wall.
From repairing damaged plaster and skirting boards to wallpapering, tile repairs and complete redecoration, I can deal with the smaller jobs that often need putting right before the finishing work begins.
More than decoration
Sometimes the repair is as important as the paint
Interior decorating often begins with repairing the surface underneath. Cracked plaster, damaged skirting boards, loose tiles or old fittings can all spoil the finished appearance if they are simply painted over.
I am happy to deal with those practical repairs first and then carry out the finishing work afterwards.
That makes this particularly useful for smaller jobs where you do not necessarily want to arrange several different trades just to get one room properly finished.

Damaged plaster repaired and repainted
A good finished surface depends on what lies underneath it. Where plaster is damaged, filling and painting alone is not always enough.
This job involved repairing the damaged wall, preparing the surface and then repainting it so that the repair became part of the finished room rather than remaining an obvious patch.
A smaller repair
Bathroom tile repair
Not every bathroom job needs a plumber. Minor repairs to tiles and finishes can often be dealt with as ordinary handyman work.

The important part
Preparation makes the difference
Painting and decorating usually gets the attention, but the finished result depends heavily on preparation.
Repair
Deal with damaged surfaces and fittings first.
Prepare
Make sure the surface is ready for finishing.
Decorate
Apply the finishing work carefully and neatly.
Check
Look at the finished result rather than simply finishing the task.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about decorating and interior repairs
What sort of decorating and interior repairs can you do?
I can undertake a range of interior work, including painting and decorating, wallpapering, repairing damaged plasterwork, replacing or repairing skirting boards and making good damaged walls and ceilings.
Can you repair damaged plaster before decorating?
Yes. Small cracks, holes and areas of damaged plaster can often be repaired and prepared before decorating so that the finished surface is as neat and even as possible.
Can you hang wallpaper?
Yes. I can prepare suitable walls and hang wallpaper carefully, taking particular care with alignment, pattern matching, corners and edges.
Can you repair or replace damaged skirting boards?
Yes. Damaged sections of skirting can often be repaired or replaced, with the surrounding area made good and prepared for decoration.
Should I send photographs before you visit?
Yes, if possible. Photographs of the room and any damaged areas will help me understand the condition of the surfaces, the amount of preparation required and the type of decorating or repair work involved.
Have a room that needs attention?
Send Dmytro a few photographs and show him what needs sorting out.
Whether it is damaged plaster, tired decoration, wallpapering or one awkward repair, photographs are often the easiest way to start.
