Questions about flooring
What types of flooring can you fit?
I can undertake a range of domestic flooring work, including carpet fitting and straightforward flooring installations and repairs. If you send me details of the flooring and the room, I can advise whether it is a suitable job for me.
Can you repair an existing floor rather than replace it?
Often, yes. Depending on the type and condition of the flooring, it may be possible to repair or replace a damaged section rather than renewing the entire floor.
Does the existing floor need to be prepared first?
A good finished floor depends on what is underneath it. I will check the existing surface and identify any preparation, repairs or other work that may be needed before the new flooring is fitted.
Can you fit insulation beneath a floor?
Where the construction and access are suitable, I can install insulation as part of flooring work to help improve the comfort and thermal performance of the room.
Should I send photographs before you visit?
Yes, if possible. Photographs of the room, the existing floor and the flooring you would like fitted will help me understand the job and identify any preparation or materials that may be needed.
